Walking in My Shoes…

¡Chamaca Condenada! My mother would yell as she chased me out of her bedroom. Partly angry but fully amused. I’d gotten into her make up and high heels again. I was only 4 or 5, but I remember like it was yesterday. I would watch her get dressed and meticulously run a dark line from one side of her eye to the other. Beautiful and bold.

I dunno girl, everyone has their own, but fully agree that Latinas get dressed up to go grocery shopping. To this day, I wouldn't be caught dead in shorts and sneakers except for the gym and running. great photo, btw!

LOVe the post. It's so true even in my own life. I can't tell you how many heels I broke, or messed up my mom's makeup. But it open the idea of who we can be as Latina Women in the future. All great beginnings to being awesome mothers, professional career minded, and adventurers! I'm excited to be one of those LATINAS!

Of Course, how insightful. I still remember your love for vintage, runway, and color when we were kids. Great article!
